Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a gold shield and centered thereon a silhouette of the Lexington Minute Man statue facing left within a circle of thirteen stars all in blue; the shield resting on an arched blue scroll inscribed ARMY RESERVE SCHOOL in gold.

Symbolism
The Minute Man and thirteen stars allude to the early American military tradition; the shield and stars signify defense of the union, and the gold color denotes excellence, achievement and high ideals.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the U.S. Army Reserve Schools on 11 April 1984.  It was redesignated for the U.S. Army Reserve Forces Schools on 19 June 1989.
